This past week my family has actually taken a step back with eating healthy and tonight I realized it. The last few meals were Durbin's pizza, Bamboo Garden, Popeye's Chicken, and Homemade Spaghetti. I think the main problem my family has is that we are so busy; buying food just seems like an easy route. However, on a positive note my dad has been walking more and more. He quit for two days due to lack of time and he said in two days he could feel the weight gaining back. So he walked again and he feels great. Again there are still no physical changes but I am still so proud. My plan is to start getting tougher on the family and consider this last month before the New Year crunch time. I am personally going to challenge myself to a 30 day challenge in hopes that my family will see my progress and be motivated to join in. This project has really given me a new perspective on things. I am just truly proud of my dad for quitting pop. Also, I found that the key to being persistent with working out is a good motivation system. Several people have been following my dad's videos walking and his progress that when he stops for a day they all post "Where are the videos?" "I have been waiting for your videos Donny" "Don't quit now, you're inspiring me". The people who give my dad this little insight and courage give him the energy to continue going. It is sort of like being Famous and everyone deserves their 15 minutes of fame. It is just a good thing that my dad is getting his from such a positive thing that he will benefit from. This my dad. His face captures the confidence he has and the growing simplicity of each walk.
